Sometimes instructions are good.

Once upon a time, Susi and Ashlee went on the slip n' slide. It was a ton of fun. However, the instructions say that only those between the ages of 5 and twelve and under 110 lbs should use the slip n'slide. Well I'm not that young and definitely weigh more than 110 lbs!! Hence the battle scars. I've got a goose egg/gigantic bruise on my right shin and a fair bruise on my left knee. Ash has a super sweet bruise on both knees and we think she over-extended a muscle in her side. Well, I don't care what the instructions say. We had a blast, and at 90+ degrees, what can one expect?

(sorry, no pics of the battle scars. James still has the camera in Indiana.)

Today was an adventureous day. Sophie and I woke up and got to take a walk to the park. My mom and dad were there to listen to a pyramid spiel (I think that's how it's spelt). I don't buy into it. Oh well. Then I got to go to a fun birthday party for my friend's little girl. It was so much fun and she was so darn cute!

We finished up the day Hanging out with Daren & Ashlee. They hosted a fantastic bar b que. My favorite part is that Ash got a Slip N' Slide. Makayla and Luiz were the first ones to go for it. Then Makayla came running in the house begging Aunt Susi and Aunt Ashlee to come play too. Hands down, it was a ton of fun and exactly what I needed.

The kids look more natural!

Long Week

Wow. It's been one week and a day. I really miss James. He left last Thursday morning at 5 am. He was scheduled to be home today. Needless to say, his absence has been prolonged. As far as I know, he is to come home next Thursday. He'll be home for the Logan fireworks! We're super excited about that. Since James and I have been married we host a party on the 3rd of July. We have a wicked sweet Bar B Que, followed with a "pop-its" fireworks family war, then we watch the fireworks display put on by the city at the football stadium! It's so much fun! So I'm very glad that he will be home for that.

It has been still a long week. Sophie and I are doing well. I'm so grateful for family and friends. Everyone has been so supportive and helpful for me. I appreciate all the help that everyone has given me! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Love you all!

Missin' Our Man

It looks like Sophie and I are batchlorette-ing it for a week! James has been given the opportunity to go help set up a coaster in Indiana. I'm not sure exactly where it is, but I'll find out later. We just miss our James for the time being. I think we'll sit in the love sac and each chocolate covered strawberries and watch chick flicks all week!

The Wow's of Technology

Once upon a time we had all kinds of amazing technology to bring families closer together and freeze time in many fashions. On a wonderful wedding day, a said form of technology failed.

I NEED A NEW CAMERA!!!! The thing is so tempermental! One has to take the picture, which takes a good 3 seconds, then hold still for an additional 2 to 3 seconds. In the midst of all the excitement, I forgot to tell the photographer about this quirk. So, in the end, we have a handful of cute pictures of the wedding party pre-wedding. But all the wedding photos turned out blurry. So sorry everyone!!! My deal stinks! But hopefully, I have something better.

To be continued. . . . . . .

What a weekend!

TWO WEDDINGS AND A BLESSING!

How wonderful! James' brother, Daren, and his fiance, Ashlee, got married on Thursday and My brother, Josh, and His fiance, Heather, got married on Friday. We had a wonderful time on both days. It was so wonderful to see all of the family that came in for the visit. And our thoughts were with all those who weren't able to be there. Then today we got to go to our cousin's baby blessing. That little baby was so super cute! So that's what we've been up to lately. It's been keeping us quite busy. But the rest can now begin. (Right!!!)
